“Who would even want to know that?” – “Who am I supposed to tell this to?” These are the kinds of questions many older people living alone in our neighborhood ask themselves when it comes to talking about “the old days.” This winter, we invite you to join us at “Aufbruch” on ten evenings to share your stories and listen to one another. What was it like in our youth in Arrenberg? Who lived where, and what happened in all those houses and streets? Was everything really better back then? And what will tomorrow bring, with all the new Arrenbergers? – This question, by the way, is an old one, because everyone in Arrenberg came here from somewhere else at some point.
The storytelling gathering is about not sitting alone at home, but chatting around a long table, reminiscing together, and enjoying a simple, good dinner. Remembering isn’t just about the sensational moments, but also about ordinary, everyday life. Our archivist takes the liberty of jotting down some things and even making a few stories ready for print later on. – You’re welcome to come as often as you like: once or every time. Because when someone tells a story, others should listen, too.
